I have learnt that polar bears have black skin under their thick furs to store heat from the sunlight to keep them warm.Their fur colour is yellow because of the reflection of the sunlight.Polar bear is the most carnivorous member of the bear family. It feeds mainly on seals, especially ringed seals that poke holes in the ice to breathe, but will eat anything. It can kill birds, rodents, shellfish, crabs, beluga whales, walruses, occasionally musk oxen, and very occasionally other polar bears. They are hunted for their paws and furs for Chinese medicines and coats. They use their stored fats to keep them warm. They spend most of their time roaming on ice, finding mates, hunting for their own food and denning for them to keep their self warm.Polar bears mate in the spring; pairing is temporary, only lasting for the mating with no permanent bond between males and females. Their webbed paws helps them in their swimming. Their population have decreased over the years, they are almost going to be extinct.Polar Bears have been made both controversial and famous for their distinctive white fur and their habitat. Companies like Coca-Cola, Nelvana, Bundaberg Rum and Good Humor-Breyers have used images of this bear in logos.
