I think the people are celebrating national day at the Padang as i see chairs behind in the background. I'm guessing they are getting ready to watch the performance. I see most of the people already sat down. I am guessing it is raining as i see people in the background holding umbrellas. I also see some people holding a fan with a number thirty on it and a Singapore flag which usually is being hold for celebrating national day. There is this lady in the middle who is celebrating her birthday during national day with a cake and her relatives giving her a kiss on both side of her cheeks. The lady looks very happy as she is grinning from ear to ear. I thinks she is a fortunate lady to have her birthday on national day as she will celebrate two special occasion on one day.

The people in the picture are attempting the low element called spider web. Spider web is a cooperative learning game that strengthens team work. It needs a lot of concentration and team work to cross over. The main objective of this activity is to enhance the true meaning of team building,character development and creates a strong bonding with one another within the team. The participants looked like students on a camping trip because of the tents in the background. At the camping site, i see a lot of trees which helps to concentrate better because there is lesser noise around. The girl in the picture is cheering for the guys to cross over the small hole. The other four is helping out the participant crossing the hole by pulling him and pushing him. I see there are very independence as no instructors are around to guide them on how to clear the obstacle. Although, the team may not get along or agree with one another at times, they still will try their best to work it out and clear the obstacle. This shows team works is needed in this kind of game.

They meet daily and help each other out. Both live alone and are not affluent. Maria’s parents were anti-Nazi underground activists who sheltered Janina and her mother. Janina’s mother died of tuberculosis. Janina clung desperately to her new family and was baptized to the family to avoid being detected and killed by the Nazis. Janina gave up the chance to live with an uncle in the United States who lost both parents. During the Warsaw Uprising, the girls had to fend for themselves as Maria's father was sick and her mother was demonstrating against the Nazis. Her only sibling survived the war but later committed suicide. Janina was separated from her husband and Maria is a widow. Janina contacted the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum in Jerusalem to recognise Maria and her parents for saving her during WWI NS and the cash reward can improve Maria’s financial situation.

On 29 July, during the peak period at around 5.30 pm at CTE road. A hit –and-run incident has occurred. A 21 years old, Mr. Thomas Lim Wei Jie and 18 years old Miss Lily Tan Mei Li were both hit. Mr. Thomas Lim Wei Jie and Miss Lily Tan Mei Li were both thrown over by the huge impact of the car on their motocycle. Miss Lily Tan Mei Li was sent to the hospital at Tan Tock Seng hospital and was in coma while Mr. Thomas Lim Wei Jie was pronounced dead on the spot when the ambulance arrived.

26 years old. eye witness; Ms Jane Tan said, “It all happen so fast!” she was also sure that she saw two cars.

40 years old Inspector Abdul Raham said, “There were streams of blood on the road.”He was shocked by what was left of the motocycle.

Madam Moliah Bte Ismail,36 years old ,house wife who was one of the passenger in one the cars said ,”All I was a loud bang !” she was unsure what cause the accident and was in a state of shock when interviewed.

Mr. Thomas Lim Wei Jie’s mother was crying her eyes out while her husband tried to console her. His mother also said that, “They were both so young!” Mr. Thomas lim Wei Jie was Mr and Mrs Lim only son. While Miss Lily Tan Mei Li’s parents said in hokkien,”I hope that she will regain conscious. “While crying.

When interview, Inspector Abdul Rahman want to advice drivers to drive carefully and not to talk on the hand phone when driving. While by standers are urged to notice the licence plate number plate of the vehicles and to come forward with information involved in the hit-and-run accident.

When I am small, i have a friend named Brandon.In the beginning Brandon was a very happy child and had a perfect family.His mom was very loving and took care of them. They would go on family trips and had a good time. Everything changed when his parents started fighting and got a divorce. His father started drinking and his mother started beating him and treating him lower than a animal.Brandon at first did everything his mother ordered. He always thought his father was going to save him and take him away. As time passed by, he saw that things were just getting worse between his mother and him and his father wouldn't do nothing about it. He lost hope and didn't care about anything.Eventually, when he grown up, his character is the same as his mum.

I heard from my mother that i was afraid of lightning and thunders when i was at the age of 1.
but gradually i was not afraid of it as i grow up.When i saw the flash of lightning i would
automatically close my ears with my hands.Sometimes, i would hide under the blankets when the
thunderstorm came.The sound was loud but my mother told me not to be afraid.But when the
second came, my face turned white.When it was very near, i could feel the floor vibrating.
Every time when i see black clouds forming together,i would fly to my mum.

THE WISHES AND NEEDS FROM OUR RESIDENTS IN PULAU UBIN

I,the President of the Green Club,is sending you this proposal, recommending appropriate changes and facilities to be built on Pulau Ubin from the Residents.They were interviewed and gave their views.

Mr Mohamad Ismail Bin Adam (Headman of the island, Aged 74) wishes there will be a new clinic for the sick to get there fast.He also wishes that there will be a school for the locals there.The children there are very enthusiastic in learning.Mr Mohamad thinks its inconvenient for his grandchildren to take a bumboat to the mainland to study

Madam Chan AH Mui (Aged 45, Former owner of a kiosk for bicycle rental) thinks that a good bus service,roads and infrastructure should be made at Pulau Ubin.Building a good bus service,roads and infrastructure would be much more convenient for the residents living there to get to places easily and accessible.She would also like to have cycling tracks for cyclist and nature trails for the people who love nature to walk through the forests and look at its scenery.

Mr Chandran Mohan (Aged 20, Polytechnic Student) considered that transforming Pulau Ubin in to a 21st Century New Town would make it into both shopping facilities and having the nature at their doorstep.This would be very relaxing for the residents there as they do not need to get on a boat to Singapore and buy what they need at once and bring the stuff back to Pulau Ubin.

Mrs Tan Li Lin (Aged 32, Housewife and part time hawker assistant) hopes there will be a reliable water supply as there is alot of campers and day trippers.She would also wants to start a coffee stall.Therefore, a good water supply is very important and needed for those people.

Melvin Koh(Aged 16, 'O ' level student) told us that he wants to preserve Chek Jawa,the pride of Pulau Ubin as a nature reserve.He is afraid that the changes would affect the natural beauty of the island.

I hope you will consider the wishes,needs and concerns of the residents and hopefully get a reply from you.
